Achtergrond

Katarzyna Kujawa-Roeleveld werkt sinds 1995 voor Wageningen University en sinds 2008 ook voor LeAF. Ze studeerde af bij de Poznan University of Technology (PUT, Poland) als sanitary engineer. Tot 1995 werkte ze deeltijd voor PUT als docent en onderzoeker op het gebied van biologische afvalwaterzuivering, voor adviesburo AQUA (Poznan) als procesontwerper en voor het waterschap (Aquanet, Poznan) als technoloog. In 1995 begon ze haar PhD onderzoek en rondde deze in 2000 af met als titel: ‘Estimation of denitrification potential with respiration based techniques’. Bij LeAF is ze betrokken bij projecten op het gebied van microverontreinigingen, (brongescheiden) sanitatie gericht op de terugwinning en het hergebruik van waardevolle stoffen (nutriënten en energie), zowel in Nederland als daarbuiten.
